The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced that the various sections of Nueva Ecija national roads that underwent road improvement works have been completed.

    The DPWH said that portions of Sta. Rosa-Tarlac Road and Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road have been upgraded.

  • How much did the government spend on the project?

    The national government allocated P27.2 million for the project.

  • In a statement, the public works department said that a total of six kilometers of road on the province’s two major thoroughfares — the Sta. Rosa-Tarlac Road and Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road  — have been upgraded.

    The DPWH shared that asphalt overlay activities have been conducted on the 1.85-lane-kilometers and 2.2-lane-kilometers of the Sta. Rosa-Tarlac Road covering in the towns of Zaragoza and Sta. Rosa, respectively.

    Apart from that, 1.94 lane-kilometers of the Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road section in Cabanatuan City has also been upgraded.

    “With better carriageways, residents and motorists find a more convenient and safer travel while traversing the road sections,” the DPWH noted. 

    The completed asset preservation and preventive maintenance projects had a total cost of P27.2 million funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2022.
